Walker Introduces Constitutional Amendment to Block Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer from Expanding the Senate

U.S. Representative Mark Walker (R-N.C.) introduced an amendment to the U.S. Constitution, H.J.Res. 97, that would block the expansion of the Senate to more than 100 Senators by limiting the composition of the U.S. Senate to states admitted to the Union prior to the 116th Congress.

Currently, all but three Senate Democrats have co-sponsored legislation to expand the Senate to 102, with further calls to expand it to 104. This also comes on the heels of U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer's (D-N.Y.) comments that "nothing is off the table when it comes to stopping the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett."

"From packing the Supreme Court to passing the disastrous Green New Deal, it's no secret Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer and their Washington elites will do anything to reshape the political future of our nation -- no matter the cost," Walker said. "Democrats' blatant attempts to strategically manipulate and mold dark blue strongholds in their quest to achieve a Senate majority treats Americans as pawns in their pathetic chess game. There is a cap on the number of members in the House and the Senate should have the same to avoid political abuse and hostage-taking of our standards and norms."
